Here is a tribute to the great dance-house track of La Toya "Oops oh no!" with two editions, one in 1986, one in 1991. La Toya might be the first one in the Jackson family to have explored the dance music in her career.

Parlons aujourd'hui du célèbre et controversé album de La Toya "Bad girl" (sortie aussi sous d'autres titres), cet album est autant adoré que détesté par ses fans et finalement il représente assez bien les contradictions qui ont parsemé la carrière d'une chanteuse très productive (11 albums enregistrés) mais qui a toujours souffert d'un complexe d'infériorité qui l'empêche de s'affirmer pleinement en tant qu'artiste.
Il est raisonnable considérer l'album "Bad girl" plus comme un album des années 80 que 90. D'ailleurs sa date de sortie reste controversé.
Mais il est probablement sortie début 1990 (en vinyle et cassette chez Sherman Records). Toujours est-il que La Toya l'a présenté au public en 1989 lors de ses premiers concerts aux Etats-Unis comme l'atteste la vidéo VHS "A sizzling spectacular" sortie fin 89. Le 45 tours de "Bad girl" (même pochette que l'album) est lui aussi sorti à la fin des années 80 chez Teldec. La chanteuse préparait donc son grand retour en continuant la veine euro-pop amorcé sur son précédent album en laissant de côté le côté plus urbain hip-hop qu'elle avait essayé avec Full Force.
Mais alors pourquoi l'album complet a t-il été finalement refusé à Teldec pour être donné à un petit label, nous ne le savons pas vraiment, il est probable que Jack Gordon (l'impétueux manager de La Toya) ai tenté une négociation à la hausse avec Teldec en demandant que sa chanteuse (qu'il venait d'épouser de force et dont il gérait les finances à son propre avantage) soit mieux payée et que la maison de disques ai refusé. C'est finalement Sherman Records qui obtient les droits d'exploitation de l'album quelques mois plus tard.
Toujours est-il qu'au départ cela devait être un disque de 10 titres (comme le précédent) avec seulement les pistes de 03 à 12. Honnêtement je pense que cette version de l'album aurait mieux marché avec une promotion cohérente et sérieuse. De cette façon ce sixième album de La Toya Jackson aurait été plus cohérent musicalement.
Mais la carrière de La Toya est pleine de surprises et de rebondissements et immédiatement son manager lui fait enregistrer de nouvelles chansons et travailler avec de nouvelles équipes en Italie. Ainsi naissent "You and me" (une adaptation d'une ballade italienne complètement réinventé par La Toya, sa version est beaucoup plus moderne) et "Sexual feeling" à l’extrême opposé qui est un morceau provocant qui surfe sur la vague house music de 89-90 et s'inspire surement aussi bien de "French kiss" de Lil Louis que de "Love to love you baby" de Donna Summer. Ces deux chansons très différentes sortent en 45 tours, malgré son étrangeté il semble que "Sexual feeling" rencontre un certain succès en Europe, une nouvelle version remixé sera d'ailleurs présenté rapidement.
Avec le deal que Sherman Records vient d’obtenir l'album "Bad girl" sort finalement mais agrémenté de ces deux titres propulsé aux avant-postes de l'album. C'est à mon avis une très mauvaise idée, car l'incohérence de ses deux titres en ouverture vient ternir tout le reste du L.P qui se positionne comme un disque de pop très agréable à écouter dans la lignée des productions de Paula Abdul, Kylie Minogue ou Sabrina.
Pour commencer "Sexual feeling" (Rhapsody album version) est l'un des pires morceaux de la chanteuse, ce n'est qu'une suite de gémissements plutôt gênants en totale opposition avec la nature pudique et délicate de la chanteuse, pourtant le "La Toya remix" est une version beaucoup plus réussie et bien plus musicale puisque la chanteuse s'improvise rappeuse avec pas mal d'aplomb. Ce remix aurait du figurer dans l'album car il correspond mieux à l'ambiance générale du projet.
Pour ce qui est de "You and me" le deuxième titre, c'est une jolie chanson mid-tempo qui commence comme un ballade et devient plus dynamique, c'est une chanson correcte mais qui aurait mieux été en dernier titre de l'album. On appréciera tout de même la jolie performance de La Toya sur ce titre au festival de San Remo, une occasion pour elle de prouver qu'elle est une vraie chanteuse.
Dans l'ensemble le disque propose des titres plutôt courts assez bien mixés et réalisés avec un son qui n'est pas sans rappeler les productions allemandes de Sandra ou Modern Talking ou tout simplement les productions de Stock Aitken & Waterman. La voix douce et sucrée de La Toya est particulièrement bien mise en avant sur ce projet.
Le troisième titre "He's my brother" est tout simplement un hommage d'un sœur à son frère. A bien des égard cette chanson correspond parfaitement à l'idée qu'on peut se faire de La Toya. Une jeune femme mignonne et naïve en admiration devant son génie de petit frère: l'incontournable Michael Jackson. Il est probable que les nombreux scandales qui entourait déjà la figure publique de Michael ai poussé la jeune femme a écrire cette chanson.
Like many celebrities, La Toya has been scrutinized from head to toe since her adolescence and it's true that La Toya has changed quite a bit over the years, despite everything our little pop princess is still dapper having reached sixty. Many people criticize La Toya Jackson's look, certainly she has done her nose three times but there are celebrities who have done more than that, in my opinion it is mainly because she has a glamorous and eccentric style and that she wears a lot of makeup, in my opinion La Toya is trying to be a funky "Barbie" doll !
Comme beaucoup de célébrités La Toya est scrutée de la tête aux pieds depuis son adolescence et c'est vrai que La Toya a pas mal changé avec les années, malgré tout notre petite princesse de la pop est toujours pimpante en ayant atteint la soixante. Beaucoup de gens critiquent le look de La Toya Jackson, certes elle a refait son nez trois fois mais il ya a des celebrités qui ont fait plus que ça, à mon avis c'est surtout qu'elle a un style glamour et excentrique et qu'elle porte beaucoup de maquillage, à mon avis La Toya essaye d'être une Barbie tout simplement !

That's it, La Toya did once again a beautiful appearance in a reality TV show "the celebrity apprentice" which is a quite tough show. I didn't see everything cause i'm in France, and didn't understood everything but I know that La Toya did win a challenge and gave money to her charity (APLA) I also know that she had a lot of problems with those bad bit***s of Star Jones and NeNe Leakes who treated bad poor Toy Toy, but hopefully she acted like a very classy lady, she completely overshadow those jealous women and you can see everywhere on internet very positive reviews of La Toya on the show, it's seems that people really appreciate her!

interview: “I’ve been approached to do ‘Dancing With the Stars,’” Jackson told Access Hollywood’s Tony Potts exclusively on Thursday. “The fact of the matter is, I won’t be doing it, simply because of the circumstances that (are) going on at the moment.”
“I can’t see myself putting myself into there right now, dancing every single day when I’m still trying to find out what exactly happened to my brother,” Jackson said. “That’s the most important thing for me at this very moment.”
“I love that show,” La Toya Jackson explained. “It’s not only one of my favorite shows, it’s my mother’s as well. They had on television that I was doing it, and she goes, ‘Oh honey! Is that going to be you?’ I go, ‘Mother, that’s just a rumor.’ She just perked up! We watch it together.”
“I would love to do ‘American Idol,’” Jackson said. “I would love to be a judge on that show. I think I would do well with (Simon).”

Home is La Toya's Tribute to Michael Jackson and the Jackson Family
LOS ANGELES, July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Home, a song co-written and co-produced by La Toya Jackson and Jeffre Phillips and sung by La Toya Jackson, was written with affection about her childhood memories and based on the premise that no matter where you are or what you are going through in your life, you can always go Home. The label had been planning on releasing another single from the album on this date, but with the passing of La Toya's brother, Michael, the label approached La Toya and Ja-Tail Records about releasing Home instead. La Toya decided if the song was to be released it would be with all the proceeds going to Michael's philanthropic causes.
Michael personally supported and donated to APLA, and it was a charity that he believed in. Therefore, Bungalo/Universal partnered with them by offering all of the download's proceeds to be donations to APLA.
Bungalo President Paul Ring comments on the release, "We felt that to move forward releasing La Toya's album as planned without recognizing Michael's tragic passing was inappropriate. After consulting with La Toya, we decided that both Bungalo and Ja-Tail Records would not earn any profit, but rather donate all of our time, energy, and proceeds to one of MJ's favorite charities, APLA. We feel that the song and La Toya are amazing and to be able to raise awareness and funds for this organization is exactly what Michael would have approved of!"
